About Banks For Il-2

Hello, my name is Ashley Banks, and I am running as an Independent for Congress in Illinois’ 2nd District. I bring 40 years of lived experience, resilience, and service, having spent most of my life living, working, and raising my family here.

I survived a rare medical condition that taught me the importance of access to quality healthcare and accountability. I have worked in a variety of jobs—bus company, CTA, truck driving, warehouse, and ride-sharing—giving me firsthand knowledge of the challenges working families face.

I am running because too many laws meant to protect people are not upheld. My priorities include **infrastructure**, ensuring safe water and modern pipelines; **economic development**, revitalizing businesses and services; and **healthcare access**, restoring local emergency care. Im also advocating for Universal Healthcare.

My campaign is guided by community, unity, and putting people first. I live here, work here, and know the needs of this district. I am not a candidate you need to track down—I am already here and always have been.

**Ashley Banks works for you.**

Truly Independent, Truly People-First

Banks For IL-2 isn’t driven by party agendas or special-interest pressures. The campaign is built around community needs, not partisan loyalty.

Unity As A Core Strategy, Not A Slogan

While many campaigns talk about unity, Banks For IL-2 frames unity as a working method – bringing residents together to collaborate on real solutions instead of fueling division.

Ground-Up Community Voices

The initiative prioritizes listening sessions, direct engagement, and resident-driven policy ideas. It’s designed so the community shapes the agenda, not the other way around.

"Banks For IL-2 represents a break from politics-as-usual — offering a new voice, new energy, and a commitment to transparency, accountability, and collaboration."
