Our journey, your voice

Discover the diverse background and commitment that drives Banks For IL-2. Our experiences are your experiences, shaping a dedicated approach to serving Illinois's 2nd district.

Diverse experience for effective representation

My journey through various roles—from an election judge to a warehouse worker, and a transportation bus operator at the Chicago Transit Authority—has provided a unique perspective on the needs of our community. I've also worked as a truck driver and a freelance journalist, further broadening my understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing Illinois residents. My academic pursuits at DePaul University and Olive Harvey have equipped me with critical thinking and analytical skills essential for effective representation.

Advocacy for a stronger community

My commitment to the community is reflected in the specific issues and challenges I've actively tackled. I've advocated for missing individuals, worked tirelessly to stop violence in areas like Englewood and South Shore, and championed support for homeless shelters. These experiences have deepened my understanding of the critical needs within our district and fueled my determination to create meaningful change.

Shaping a better future for Illinois

The impact I aim to make is profound and far-reaching. I intend to leverage my life experiences to address critical issues such as homelessness, the complexities of DCFS involvement and false claims against parents, and biases within domestic relations. My focus also extends to promoting transparency in schools, enhancing school safety, and investigating organizational biases in community involvement. My diverse background uniquely prepares me to tackle these challenges and advocate for a more equitable and just Illinois.

"Banks For IL-2 truly understands the heart of our community. Their dedication and diverse experience are exactly what we need for effective representation."
